St Mark’s first ever History Quiz Bowl

3/24.2023_5G History Quiz Bowl, this year 2023 is the first year that the school holds the "History Quiz Bowl"; I have gone through several rounds of knockout competitions among 5th grade classmates in the same year, and I was lucky enough to qualify~

I am one of the 10 students who participated in this competition on behalf of the fifth grade students. This time we need to form a team with kids in grades 6, 7, and 8.

I had long been looking forward to the competition with great anticipation. I was randomly assigned to a group with three other kids. After several rounds of competition, our group was eliminated😩. These questions seem to be too difficult for us fifth-grade students. It’s okay. We are here to accumulate experience and be better prepared for the future⋯⋯

My team had four kids plus on adult in total, I was the only girl in my team. My other teammates also forgot today was the History Bowl so they didn't even study the day before. It was kind of okay because some of the question were easy and some I know. So, together we got through many rounds. Until we started to reach the harder question and that was where our team got elimanated. We were disapointed, but at least we made it through half and were the first ones to experience the History Bowl.

My mother was present at the time, and I was worried that she would be sad. But when she saw me, she gave me a big hug. Thank you, mom.

My grandma once told me: "Every child who was once high-spirited will start to learn about setbacks and failures when he/she grows up. The rest is to "know yourself and accept the facts, because this is life."

This time I understood the truth of what she said.
